Dog groomers
Google reviews for dog groomers, at the moment they see the dog.
Grooming is one of the only trades where the customer gets a visible before-and-after and reacts to it in front of you. That reaction lasts about ten seconds and then they are gone.

The moment
When to ask.
At pickup, once the dog is back on the leash.
Pickup is your moment and it is a strong one. The dog comes over the counter, the owner reacts, and then there is a short gap while the leash goes on and the card comes out. Put the stand at the far end of the counter from the door so the ask lands after the reaction rather than during it.
Say this, every time
“You're all set. If you'd like to leave a Google review, tap your phone on the stand here.”
The same words, to every customer at that moment. Not the ones who seem pleased — choosing who to ask is what gets a profile flagged.
Same card, every business. Two finishes, same price.
Placement
Where it goes.
Pickup counter, at the far end from the door — the dog goes over the counter, the phone comes out after.
Groomers get chosen on photographs and kept on reviews. A new customer looks at your work; a nervous customer with an anxious dog reads what other owners said about how their dog was handled. The second group needs written reviews, and written reviews need asking.
The objection
Half my clients are regulars. Will they keep tapping it?
No, and they should not. Somebody leaves one review, not one a month. The stand is there for the client who has been coming for a year and never got round to it, and for the new client who is deciding whether to come back. Regulars will ignore it after they have used it once, which is correct.
